Lunch & Learn Programs

Our industry is changing every day.

New products, codes, regulations, automation systems, energy programs.

It’s almost impossible to keep up! That’s why Geauga Mechanical has developed a series of lunch-and-learns that will help you and your company stay ahead of the HVAC curve. Geauga Mechanical lunch-and-learns are designed for general contractors, engineers, building owners – anyone who wants to learn more about the HVAC industry. You can choose from the topics listed below, or allow us to customize a presentation just for you. We are happy to present our lunch-and-learns at our office or at yours.

HVAC Financial Sales

As the construction industry becomes increasingly competitive, successful general contractors must find ways to set themselves apart from the competition. We believe that teaming with Geauga Mechanical Company to provide HVAC Financial Sales to your customers will do just that.
HVAC Financial Sales are a method of quantifying not just the first cost of an HVAC System, but all of the associated costs throughout the life cycle of that equipment. This information can then be used to compare different system options, justify an additional capital investment, or to substantiate value engineering proposals.
Also as part of the Lunch and Learn presentation, we will discuss the benefits of the Design/Build and Design/Assist project delivery methods.

HVAC System Types – Which HVAC system do I choose?

As you know, this can be a very difficult question to answer! This Lunch and Learn presentation will look at the common HVAC System types installed in our market.
There will be a brief description of each system, including common applications and characteristics. These systems will also be compared in each of the following categories: Comfort Control, Initial Cost, Cost of Operation, Cost of Maintenance, and Equipment Life Cycle.
Also as part of the Lunch and Learn presentation, we will discuss the benefits of the Design/Build and Design/Assist project delivery methods.

LEED™ and HVAC

Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED™) projects have quickly become commonplace in our market. Having a firm understanding of the LEED™ process and credits is essential for a successful project.
With such a large focus on energy efficiency and indoor environmental quality, the selection of the right HVAC system, and mechanical contractor to deliver it, is critical to a LEED™ project’s success. In fact, a mechanical contractor plays a primary role in 38 of the 100 possible credits and is involved with 56% of the total points available for a project.
This Lunch and Learn presentation will provide a brief overview of the LEED™ rating system, discuss the prerequisites and credits related to the HVAC system, and present real world examples of HVAC system applications on LEED™ projects.
