Project Overview

Located within the historic Garfield Building, Marble Room Steaks & Raw Bar occupies a former bank hall known for its marble columns, gilded detailing, and soaring ceilings. The project required modern climate control without altering the building’s ornate interior.

Geauga Mechanical delivered a discreet, high-performance mechanical solution that preserved the architectural character of the space.

The Challenge

The historic banking hall left no room for visible ductwork modifications. Additional complexity included:

  • Conditioning air within a historic bank vault
  • Managing kitchen exhaust without rooftop grease duct routing
  • Integrating new systems into existing infrastructure
  • Maintaining visual integrity of ornate ceilings

The Solution

Geauga Mechanical developed an invisible integration strategy.

Our team:

  • Reused existing ductwork and diffusers
  • Designed a water-to-water heat pump system tied into the building’s condenser loop
  • Installed a Pollution Control Unit to eliminate the need for rooftop grease duct routing
  • Coordinated systems without altering historic architectural elements

The result

Marble Room now operates with modern, efficient climate control while preserving one of Cleveland’s most iconic interiors.
